Last year Allwyn launched the inaugural Future Frames Celebration Evening, where Future Frames directors had the chance to be awarded a fully funded month-long scholarship to Los Angeles, after showcasing thier work during the festival.

We would be delighted to offer you the chance to enjoy one of Europe's oldest international film festivals and host you at Allwyn Lounge, which will be open every day throughout the festival. You are welcome to relax and enjoy the festival’s programme from the comfort of the VIP lounge, hosted in the oustanding setting of the Hotel Thermal.

Future Frames

The Future Frames programme, established in cooperation with European Film Promotion (EFP), is an integral part of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF). Future Frames: Generation Next of European cinema, is dedicated to giving talented emerging European directors a chance to learn from the industry’s top established figures, launching their careers.

Since 2015, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programming team selects ten film school students and graduates who have been recommended by member organizations of European Film Promotion to present their short and medium-length films to the festival’s audiences. The participating Future Frames filmmakers are also treated to a specially tailored mentoring program that includes training, networking, and promotion. One selected participant is given the opportunity to go on a special study trip to Los Angeles, sponsored by Allwyn.

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious such festival in Central and Eastern Europe. It is one of the oldest A-list film festivals, a category it shares with the festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, San Sebastian, Montreal, Shanghai, and Tokyo. Among filmmakers, buyers, distributors, sales agents, and journalists, KVIFF is considered the most important event in all of Central and Eastern Europe. It is one of the major social events in the Czech Republic, on a par with the prestige of the Oscars and Cannes, held in the beautiful spa city of Karlovy Vary.

Every year, the festival presents some 200 films from around the world, many of them as world, international, or European premieres and regularly hosts famous and important filmmakers. Many films also make it into Czech or foreign distribution, onto television, or into other festivals thanks in part to their screening at Karlovy Vary. The Karlovy Vary festival is intended for both film professionals and the general public, and offers visitors a carefully designed program, excellent facilities and a broad range of other services.

Among its prestigious awards, KVIFF presents a Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema, recognising actors and filmmakers for their inspiring work. Past recipients include actors Robert Redford, Robert de Niro, Liv Ullmann, Judi Dench and directors William Friedkin, Miloš Forman and Stephen Frears.

This year, the 58th KVIFF is taking place from 28 June to 6 July 2024.
